
New Delhi: The organizers of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday were forced to change the schedule of the event for 2011 due to upcoming elections in the country’s five Assembly states.
Organizers said in a statement that they have made some changes to the original 2011 IPL schedule to accommodate assembly elections in the states of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry.
Taking into account the revised schedule, the organizers also extended the deadline for media accreditation and stated that new forms will be available soon.
The revised media accreditation form will be sent out to the media shortly. Media representatives who have already applied for accreditation will be contacted separately by the IPL accreditation team,” IPL Chairman Chirayu Amin said in a statement.
“The submission deadline has been extended by two days to 6:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2011,” he added.
