A police inspector attached to the Kodighalli branch is on trial for allegedly harassing a woman who came to file a fraud report a month ago.
The victim visited the site to file a complaint against a man who allegedly swindled her out of 15 lakhs. The inspector who received the complaint assured her of help and allegedly started chatting with her and even sent her gifts. The accused officer even asked her to come and meet him in person.
Shocked by this, the victim complained to a senior police officer, who ordered an officer with the rank of assistant commissioner of police to investigate the case and draw up a report.
A detailed investigation was carried out and statements and CCTV footage related to the incident were collected. According to a senior police officer, the report has been turned over to the commissioner for further action.
