Earthquake in Delhi-NCR: After strong tremors were felt in parts of India, including Delhi-NKR, fire departments in the nation’s capital received reports of a building tilting in the Shakarpur district. However, the fire department later clarified that the contact was “a kindly intentional call”. It says that not a single building in Shakarpur was damaged due to tremors.
“No leaning buildings were found in the Shakarpur area. The neighbors called first. Residents of the building were not aware of the call,” fire chief Atul Garg told ANI.
Calls about tilted buildings and cracks in buildings also came from the Jamia Nagar and Kalkaji districts. Fire teams have been dispatched to these areas, after which it will be clarified what exactly happened, the Delhi fire department said, according to ANI.
